About Us

Founded in 1967, the Korean-American Chamber of Commerce of the North Pacific Coast (KACC-NPC) is a Bay Area non-profit group with the goal of promoting business ties between South Korean and the United States, as well as within the United States.  We have about 200 members,  including the larger Korean companies such as LG, Samsung, Hyundai and U.S.S. Posco Industries.  US-based companies that support us include Union Bank of California, Merrill Lynch and several major law and accounting firms.

We also work closely with Korean government agencies such as the Korean Consulate, the Korea Trade Center and the Korean Software Incubator, I-Park.  Our members include businesspeople, entrepreneurs, professionals, academics, government representatives and other individuals who are interested in U.S.-Korea issues.

Every other month, we have a luncheon featuring Korean leaders, business executives and academics who keep our members informed about U.S. – Korean affairs.  Past programs have included a discussion by U.S. Representative Nancy Pelosi about her trip to North Korea; a lecture by Berkeley Professor Robert Scalapino on North and South Korea; a presentation by Paul Matthews, president of Matthews International Funds, on the Korea securities market; a discussion by Ta Hee Nahm, a principal with Storm Ventures, about the transition from corporate lawyer to venture capitalist.

The annual corporate membership dues for our organization are $300.  This entitles your company to include five employees as members.  Individual membership for officers and directors is $85.  Individual membership for professionals is $55.  Student membership is $35.  As a member of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce, you will be kept informed of our programs and events, receive Email notices of events and opportunities, and receive our electronic newsletter.

Our organization provides a great opportunity to network with others in the Bay Area community who are interested in Korea.  We welcome our members and invite non-members to join our organization.  To become a member, please click on the “Membership” page of this site.  For questions, please contact the Chamber president, Phil Shinn, at 415 421-8890 ext. 222.
